- Indications for Use.
Long-term regular treatment of inversive obstruction of respiratory passages.

It should be noted that Salmeterol is not a remedy for emergency aid and it should not be used for stopping of bronchial asthma attacks.
- Action
Broncholythic (enlarging of bronchi’s gap) drug of a long-term performance. Salmeterol exercises a local effect on bronchi. Bronchoenlarging performance of the drug usually manifests in 5-10 minutes after a single-shot introduction and lasts in the period of about 12 hours. It should be noted that Salmeterol is not a remedy for emergency aid and it should not be used for stopping of bronchial asthma attacks.
- Posology and Administration
Salmeterol is administered not only to adults. One-time dose is 50 mkg twice daily. In severe cases a one-time dose may be increased up to 100 mkg.
There is no need to change a dose for compromised kidney function patients and for elderly patients.

Hypersensibility to the drug components.
Children of less than 4 years of age.

- Side Effects

Others: seldom – tremor which is decreasing in the process of treatment and may be cancelled with an adequate dose-to-fit, nervousness, diarrhea, pains in the stomach, nausea.

Salmeterol is counterindicated during pregnancy. In the period of the treatment breastfeeding should be stopped.
