3. Indications for Use.
In adults a usual daytime oral dose is 12,5-25 mg 3-4 times a day (1/2-1 pellet 3-4 times daily). A usual evening dose is 50 mg (2 pellets).
Through rectum: usually 1-2 times a day 1 rectal suppository.
To infants: from 2 to 12 months of age - 1/4 of a pellet 3-4 times a day; to children from 1 to 6 years of age - 1/2 of a pellet or 1/2 of suppository 3-4 times a day, from 6 to 14 years of age - 1 pellet or 1/2 of suppository 2-3 times a day.
4. Action
The medication takes anti-allergic, anti-inflammatory, local analgetic action, decreases penetrability of capillary tubes, puffiness of mucous coats, itching; it also takes sleeping action, decreases the body’s temperature, eliminates dizziness, decreases nervousness both muscle and emotional. The drug acts as an antiemetic agent.
5. Posology and Administration
This drug is used for the treatment and prevention of allergic reactions and travel sickness, moreover it is used for the improvement of falling asleep and as a tranquilizer, but due to serious side effects the drug should not be taken for this purpose; likewise its therapy should not be stopped abruptly. 10. Side Effects
