Perindopril therapy allows to reduce the risk of emergence of recurrent myocardial infarction and encourages the heart performance.
- Posology and Administration
The starting dose is 1-2 mg/daily in one intake. Supporting doses are 2-4 mg/daily while backward heart failure, 4 mg (less frequently 8 mg) – when there is arterial hypertension the administration is to be done in one intake.
- Counterindications
Angioedema in anamnesis, pregnancy, lactation, childhood, hypersensitivity to Perindopril.
- Should Be Taken with Precautions, if…
With caution it should be used when there are kidney failure and bad arterial hypertension.
Before the start of the therapy all the patients are recommended to undergo a kidney function study.
During the therapy it is recommended to rule out alcoholic beverages and to use adequate contraception agents. Caution is needed when during the therapy any surgical interventions (including that of a dentist’s) are carried out. In case of a missed intake do not double up the next dose.

Symptoms: low arterial tension, Quincke’s edema.

On the part of respiratory system: dry cough is possible.

On the part of central nervous system: headache, sleeping disorders and/or mood disorders, dizziness; in specific cases - convulsions.
On the part of blood formation: diminution of hemoglobin (especially in the beginning of treatment); seldom – diminution of a number of erythrocytes and/or thrombocytes.
Allergic reactions: angioedema, skin rash, itching, erythema.
Others: sexual disorders.

Perindopril is counterindicated for the use in pregnancy and in the period of lactation (breast-feeding).
