- Indications for Use.
Prevention and long treatment of bronchial asthma, including prevention of diurnal and nocturnal disease symptoms, treatment of aspirin sensitive patients suffering from bronchial asthma and prevention of the bronchospasm, provoked by physical activity.
- Action
Singulair takes bronchodilatory action in cases of bronchial asthma and other bronchospasmodic states.
- Posology and Administration
The drug is to be taken orally once daily, regardless of meal. For the treatment of bronchial asthma the drug dose should be taken in the evening.
Adults of 15 years of age and older.
A dose for adults and children over 15 years of age is one tablet of 10 mg daily.
Children from 6 to 14 years of age.
A dosage for children of 6-14 years of age is one chewing tablet of 5 mg a day. There is no need to select a dosage for this age group.
Also there is no need to select a dosage for elderly patients, likewise there is no need to select a dosage for males or females.
- Counterindications
Hypersensitivity, pregnancy, breastfeeding, childhood (less than 6 years of age).

- Overdosing
Thirst, drowsiness, dilatation of a pupil, convulsions and pain in the stomach.
- Side Effects
Hypersensitivity reactions (including allergic suffocation, on the verge of death condition provoked by allergic reaction, rash, itching, hives and very seldom considerable liver impairments); extraordinarily bright dreams; hallucinations; drowsiness; irritability; agitation, including mental disorder; fatigability; insomnia; benumbed and tingling sensation (creeping sensation), lack of sensation upon external irritant or hypersensitivity. And very seldom – convulsion attacks; nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, pains in the stomach; headache; pains in joints and muscles; muscle convulsions; tendency of bleeding increase and deep effusions of blood; heartbeat; edemas.
- Pregnancy and Lactation
Singulair is well to use during pregnancy and breastfeeding only if a supposed favor for the mother exceeds a potential risk for the fetus or for the baby.
