3. Indications for Use.
Hydroxyzine is applied in itching and rash induced by allergic reactions, likewise for arresting of cancellation syndrome, nausea and of qualms. 5. Posology and Administration
For adults:

- for itch treatment: 25 mg, if needed up to 100 mg (25 mg 4 times a day);
- for premedication: 50–200 mg (1,5–2,5 mg/kg of body mass intramuscular) an hour before surgery
For children:
-12 months – 6 years old: 1–2,5 mg/kg daily in several intakes,
- 6 years old and more: 1–2 mg daily in several intakes,
- For premedication: 1 mg/kg daily - an hour before surgery.

As elderly patients may be more sensitive to the action of this medication, the therapy should be started from a small dose. It may decrease side effects.
Do not drink alcoholic beverages and other medications that may provoke drowsiness.
If you miss a dose take it whenever you remember about it, but if it is the time for the next dose, miss the previous dose. Do not take it more often and in bigger doses than it is prescribed by your doctor.

6. Counterindications
Glaucoma, hypertrophy of prostate gland, urinary difficulty, constipation, myasthenia, dementia (mentality damages in presenile age), kidney failure or that of liver. Also:
hypersensitivity to medications, among them to cetirizine, aminophylline or ethylenediamine; porphyria (change of liver function), pregnancy, period of birth, breastfeeding; the medication is not indicated for people of elderly age. Do not use this drug for the treatment of cold. Cold and allergy are of different etiology, and Chlorfeniramine does not perform both for symptomatic and pathogenetic treatment. Actually this medication may impair cold or cough by thickening nasal secretions and drying mucous coats. Also Hydroxyzine provokes drowsiness.

Hydroxyne may show negative side effects, especially in people more than 60 years of age. 9. Overdosing

10. Side Effects
Seek medical aid immediately if you notice signs of over dosage: awkwardness or imbalance in feet; dry mouth, nose and throat; blood flush to face; panting; attacks; hallucinations; interrupted sleep; severe drowsiness; faintness, convulsions, trembling, rash on skin, pharyngitis and fever, bizarre bleeding or bruises, bizarre tiredness or weakness.
Call your doctor if during rather long time you notice the following symptoms: thickening of bronchi discharge, alteration of vision, mental fog, stanguria or painful urination, nightmares, loss of appetite, bizarre exaltations, nervousness, physic tension or irritation, ringing or buzzing of the ears, distortion or pain in stomach, high perspiration, severe tachycardia, photo allergy (rash, skin reactions), dizziness, drowsiness, mucus increase, dry mouth, nose or throat.

11. Pregnancy and Lactation
This drug should not be taken by pregnant or breastfeeding women.

12. Driving
Until you do not know your reaction on this medication do not drive a vehicle (in the period of Hydroxyzine intake), likewise do not do other activities requiring alertness.
