5. Posology and Administration

A dosage and a way of introduction are to be chosen individually, in compliance with the patient’s condition. 9. Overdosing

 Symptoms: drowsiness, stupor, coma, ataxia, insomnia, excitement, low arterial tension, tachycardia, arrhythmias, disorders of intracardial conductibility, heart failure (in very rare cases), respiratory depression, oxygen lack, vomiting, fever, pupil dilatation, high perspiration, difficulties of genitor-urinary system.

10. Side Effects

Special care should be taken in conduction abnormality of miocarda, arrhythmias, cardio-vascular failure, high intraocular pressure, closed-angle glaucoma, urination disorders, severe liver diseases, tumors of adrenal medulla, in electric shock therapy, in diseases of thyroid gland, chronic constipation. There is a probability of a maniacal bent of patients to  self-disruction, likewise a risk of anaphylactic shock increases.

11. Pregnancy and Lactation

It is necessary to avoid use of the drug in the period of pregnancy, apart from the cases when an expected effect of the cure of the mother undoubtedly exceeds a potential risk for the fetus.
As the active substance of the drug excretes into human milk you should either stop breastfeeding or gradually cancel Anafranil.
