5. Posology and Administration
FOSAMAX should be taken at least half an hour before the first meal, drink, or medicine intake; it should be rinsed with plain water only. Other drinks (including mineral water), meal and some medicines may decrease the absorption of FOSAMAX.
To ease entrance to stomach and, thus to decrease irritation of gullet, FOSAMAX should be taken only after rise from bed, it should be rinsed with a full glass of water. After the intake patients should not lie down at least 30 minutes and before the first meal. FOSAMAX should not be taken before bed or before rise from bed. Nonobservance of these instructions may enhance the risk of gullet side effects.
The recommended dosage is one tablet of 70 mg once a week.

6. Counterindications

- impossibility to stand or sit upright during 30 minutes after the drug intake;
- hyper sensitivity to the components of the drug.
