- Posology and Administration
Posology and administration: the drug is to be taken orally in cases of cancer of lacteal gland, endometrium and kidneys - 10–20 mg 2–3 times a day, in whole for the course of treatment 2,4–9,6 g are needed; the treatment is administered up to the appearance of signs of regressions of the process and proceeds during the following 1–2 months. When there is no ovulation (infertility) the drug is administered 10 mg 2 times daily during 4 days, starting from the second day of menstruation, further on the dose may be increased up to 20 mg, and then up to 40 mg. In case if there is no excretion of milk after child birth the drug is administered 10 mg 4 times a day during 5 days. When there is oligospermia the drug is administered 10 mg 2 times a day.

Before the start of Tamoxifen therapy patients should be carefully examined by gynecologist (exception of pregnancy) and by general practitioner. Contraception should continue during three months after the end of Tamoxifen therapy.

Tamoxifen is inefficient in the treatment of metastasis patients (especially that of liver).

Solely in rare cases there registered change of the blood’s picture or ovary increase. In women before the start of menopause menstrual cycle may be irregular or it may fully stop.
- Pregnancy and Lactation
Nolvadex should not be used during pregnancy. There are a few notes about cases of spontaneous abortions, congenital defects and fetal death after Nolvadex administration though cause-effect relations have not been determined.
There are no data on excretion of Nolvadex into breast milk, that is why the drug is not recommended to be applied during lactation. The decision of the cession either of breast-feeding or of Nolvadex therapy should be on the basis of importance of its application for the mother.
