3. Indications for Use.

The drug is indicated for the treatment of general breast cancer in postmenopausal women (1 and 2 hormonotherapy line).

5. Posology and Administration

For adults, elderly among them Arimidex is administered 1 mg orally once daily.
it is not recommended the use of the drug in children.
Compromised kidney function: there is no need to correct a dose in patients with mild or moderate disorders of kidney function.
Compromised liver function: there is no need to correct a dose in patients with mild liver diseases.

6. Counterindications

  Arimidex is counterindicated:
in premenopausal women   
when pregnancy and lactation  
in severe kidney disorders patients
in significantly evidenced liver diseases patients
in patients with a known hyposensitivity to Arimidex or the other substances, which are contained in the drug and are indicated on the packet.

7. Should Be Taken with Precautions, if…

Arimidex is not recommended to use in children as its safety and efficiency has not be defined for such a group of patients.
Women in reproductive period are not recommended to use Arimidex. In case of doubts of a patient’s hormonal status menopause should be confirmed biochemically.
There are no data on Arimidex safety in patients with moderate or evidenced compromised kidney function.

9. Overdosing

There have not been described cases of overdosage in people. When overdosage occurs there emerges a probability of significant increase of side effects. In case if during Arimidex therapy strange reactions of the body are observed it is necessary to stop the treatment and call your doctor immediately.

10. Side Effects

During Airside therapy disorders on the part of intestinal tract may be observed, likewise asthenia, drowsiness, headache, rash, dry mucous coat of vagina and thinning of hair.

Arimidex is counterindicated in pregnancy and lactation.
