3. Indications for Use.
A remedy for symptomatic treatment of benign hyperplasia of prostate gland (adenoma).

4. Action
Selectively blocks postsynaptic alpha1A-adrenoreceptors of smooth muscles of prostate gland, neck of urinary bladder, prostatic part of urethra. It results in the relaxation of tonus of the smooth muscles of the abovementioned lumps and in facilitation of outflow of urine. At the same time symptoms of obstruction and the irritations connected with benign hyperplasia of prostate gland decrease. Therapeutic effect is revealed in about 2 weeks from the beginning of the treatment.

5. Posology and Administration
To be taken orally - 400 mkg once a day (after breakfast), washing down with sufficient quantity of water. Do not break or chew a capsule.

6. Counterindications
Hypersensitivity to Tamsulosin or any component of the drug.

7. Should Be Taken with Precautions, if…
Before starting a therapy with the drug, a patient should be examined in order to rule out other illnesses, which may provoke the same symptoms as benign hyperplasia of prostate. Before starting a therapy and then regularly in its routine, there should be done a digital rectal examination and, if needed, the determination of specific antigen of prostate (PSA).
In patients with manifested kidney failure it should be applied with precaution, as this group of patients has not been studied yet.

8. Interface with Other Medications
With simultaneous use with other drugs Tamsulosin may influence their action. In such cases doctor’s consultation is necessary.

9. Overdosing
Cases of acute overdosing are not described.
Symptoms: theoretically possible an acute drop of arterial tension.

10. Side Effects
The most frequent – dizziness and sleeping disorders.
Rare – headache, atony, weakness, undue fatigability, exhaustness, decrement in visual acuity, rhinitis, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea or coprostasia, asthenia, drop of libido, aching back, retrograde ejaculation (emission into urinary bladder).
Most rare – manifested and long-termed drop of arterial tension with transfer from a horizontal state into a vertical one, feeling of heartbeat, tachycardia, intense heartbeat, pains in breast, faintness, hypersensitivity reactions (skin rush, itching, hives, hydrops).
Singular – long and painful erection not connected with sexual excitement.

11. Pregnancy and Lactation
The drug is not indicated for use in women.

12. Driving
In the treatment period it is important to be cautious while driving or doing any other potentially hazardous work, which requires increased concentration of attention and quickness of psychomotor reactions.
